Alex completed his undergraduate degree in Audio Music Technology at the University of the West of England (UWE) where he also gained research experience during an internship looking at applications of spatial audio. He has worked on various research and performative projects related to creative applications of digital audio technology.

His PhD looks to explore approaches to sonification of data from molecular dynamics simulations with a focus on interactivity and VR integration. This work involves challenges from many fields and is co-supervised across the Chemistry and Computers Science departments at the University of Bristol, the Computer Science and Creative Technologies department at UWE and Bath Spa University. It is supported by the EPSRC.
