Stephanie R. Hare obtained her B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Washington in 2013 and her Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of California Davis in June 2018 working under the supervision of Prof. Dean J. Tantillo. Her dissertation was entitled “Theoretical and Experimental Consequences of Post-Transition State Bifurcations and Computational Investigations of Other Mechanistically Interesting Systems”, which included mechanistic elucidation of various organic reactions using DFT and on-the-fly downhill molecular dynamics simulations. Her current research interests primarily lie in developing new ways of modeling reaction mechanisms, focusing on improving molecular dynamics simulations in vacuo and condensed phases.
